Training of Trainers Workshop
Common Sense Parenting®: Training of Trainers is an in-depth and comprehensive three-day workshop that equips professionals with the knowledge, techniques and materials to conduct Common Sense Parenting classes in their communities.
Anyone interested in helping parents improve their parenting skills is encouraged to attend. See the current training schedule.
Professionals who might be interested include childhood educators, parent educators, counselors and therapists, EAP providers, social service providers, faith-based program providers and military family outreach coordinators.
In this workshop, participants will learn to:

Help parents set consistent, reasonable expectations based on their child's age, developmental and skill level.

Help parents proactively teach their children important skills that will prevent problems and increase their success.

Teach parents to use clear specific teaching techniques and effective consequences to increase acceptable behavior and decrease problem behavior.

Show parents how to remain calm in intense situations and teach their children to calm themselves when they are upset.

Show parents how to help their children express feelings in appropriate ways.

Equip parents with the skills to build strong, healthy families.

Motivate parents to develop routines and traditions that create cherished family memories.
