How can I determine whether in-home daycare or a daycare facility is best for my toddler?
When you are looking at whether to go the in-home route or the facility route for daycare, it really doesn't matter since one is not necessarily better than the other. What you want to be more focused on is that the facility, regardless of the type, meets the requirements and the needs of the child. That would be ratios, that they have policies and procedures for keeping children clean and safe and that they have policies and procedures for communicating with the parents in terms of how the child does on a day-to-day basis. What are the procedures if there are any kinds of emergencies and of course the training of the staff in that they have credentials, they have backgrounds in working with children and that they are C.P.R trained.
