The HARRY-SF has been validated with youth ages 11–18. The CREATE framework and activity planning approach can be adapted for younger children with parental guidance. The downloadable CREATE Companion and activity sheets are designed to be accessible to school-age children.

Most resilience scales measure traits, how resilient someone feels or sees themselves as being. HARRY measures behavior, what a young person actually does. This behavioral anchoring makes HARRY more actionable: rather than concluding "this child has low resilience," you can identify "this child has few activities in the Renew and Connect categories" and take concrete steps to change that. It also captures unique variance in hope beyond trait-based tools, which matters because hope is the key mechanism linking resilience behaviors to better mental health outcomes.

Absolutely. All materials are designed for sharing. Healthcare providers and educators are encouraged to print and distribute brochures, posters, and assessment sheets for use with the families they serve.
