When it comes to a crisis, should I shield my child from all the media coverage?
When it comes to a crisis that is being covered by the media, it's not necessarily a good idea to not let your child see anything. I don't think we can realistically keep our kids from all media. But I think when the crisis is going on, you should try to lessen the amount of media your child is being exposed to. I would suggest that you sit down and talk about what has occurred according to your child's age and their ability to understand, and then try to focus them on other things. Because sometimes, it just begins to be overwhelming for a child to have so much information on a particular crisis situation.
